David S. Lake
Mr.Lake began his trading and brokerage experience on the Chicago Board of Options, CBOE. During his 3 years on the floor he worked his way up to become a broker, then a trader in the OEX S&P 100. During his tenure he worked for several well known and respected traders.
In 1989 Mr. Lake went into the retail asset gathering and management side of the industry when he moved back to Wisconsin and started his own firm, Capital Wealth Advisors. This firm manages assets for many individuals and small companies. The client base continues to grow and Mr. Lake has received many awards. His business model for Capital Wealth Advisors is integrity above all else. He is well known and appreciated for treating his clients with respect and honor. Mr. Lake has also developed or been a partner in several real estate transactions and projects, finding success by investing his own money and time into condominium projects, office buildings, industrial parcels, lake property and commercial sites.
In 1998 he formed the partnership with Mr. Daniel R. Peterson in Black Earth LLC. Combining their respective experiences and vision to pursue opportunities, they began in Rochelle with 200 acres for future industrial development, now known as ITC. This partnership has since grown to several key properties and buildings in Illinois and Wisconsin.
It is Mr. Lake’s goal to continue and increase the growth of Black Earth into new projects and opportunities. His network, experience, financial and business knowledge, and his insight are his main attributes for the development partnership. He brings a creative mind to Black Earth, and is skilled in assembling deals and financial strategies. He uses his business and financial experience to examine the feasibility of each new opportunity thoroughly before acting. Mr. Lake enjoys new challenges and has a vision for how Black Earth will continue to grow into larger projects.
Daniel R. Peterson
Mr. Peterson brings a broad background in business and project management to the Black Earth partnership. His small business development consulting and his diverse project management background give him an understanding of the staffing, tasking, and logistical requirements for project management and leadership within a company. In 1984 he founded a consulting practice focused on professional farmland management and operations, environmental consulting, and consulting for municipal wastewater treatment districts. He subsequently established one of Wisconsin’s best known agricultural consulting firms. Mr. Peterson has also consulted for a number of municipalities on a variety of projects. He has consulted on numerous environmental projects and was the project designer and writer for several large EPA permits, resulting in an investment group asking Mr. Peterson to become a member of their project team. He became the project co-manager for three start-up enterprises and was an internal advisor for two of their commercial real estate development projects.
During his career Mr. Peterson has pursued several real estate projects including residential, industrial, hospitality, and commercial. His reputation for integrity and his involvement with municipalities, businesses, and individuals has led to a personal network able to bring commercial development opportunities to Black Earth.
Mr. Peterson brings to Black Earth experience in land and property management; business management; business and environmental consulting; venture development; and an ability to develop good relationships with a variety of people. He has experience with land acquisition, residential, industrial, and commercial real estate development projects, county land use planning, and working with municipalities.
